5 Renovations You Can Carry Out Without Setting Foot Outside!

5 Renovations You Can Carry Out Without Setting Foot Outside!

Many people are taking advantage of the imposed time at home to renovate their property. However, shopping for materials and decorative elements is more difficult in the current situation. The solution: order online! Since not all renovations can be completed without going to the store, here are some suggestions.

1- Insulate a Partition Wall to Increase Privacy

Do the main bedroom and children’s bedroom share a wall and you feel that privacy is lacking? Add mineral wool insulation to the partition wall (or walls). Simply order the required amount online. You don’t have to pull down the drywall to install it! Open one or more sections through which you can pass the pieces of insulation that you will have previously cut to the correct size and then close the wall. A quick paint job will be required to finish.

2- Finish the Joints (Put an End to Procrastination!)

Recently built homes often have unfinished basements. Walls are erected, but the joints (and painting) are left undone. This is sometimes a daunting task for homeowners: it takes time and seems superfluous! But if you don’t want (or can’t) get out of the house, it’s an easy type of project because it only requires drywall cement and a putty knife (spatula).

3- Change a Floor That Is Past Its Best-By Date

Has your teenager been begging you for months to change the old damaged carpet in their bedroom? Make them happy by ordering a contemporary floor covering. Vinyl, laminate flooring or even ceramic tiles are relatively easy to install. Watch online tutorials!

4- Are the Wall Outlets Yellowed? Replace them!

Have you ever noticed that electrical outlets and plates around switches turn yellow over time? It’s not very attractive! Ordering new plates online is very simple. Here’s a tip! There are also stainless steel models available in stores that are more expensive, but stay beautiful longer.

5- Switch Out the Old Sink and Vanity for a Prefabricated Model

People sometimes think that changing a piece of furniture in a bathroom is a wearisome project. But not always! Just make sure the new model can be installed without causing too much damage. For example, its base must camouflage the marks left on the floor as a result of removing the old vanity (unless you want to redo the entire floor). Also, make sure the new model’s dimensions are the same or slightly larger than the old so you don’t have to repaint everything.

Most stores offer delivery or curbside pick-up. If you have any questions about the installation of certain products, do not hesitate to contact the store or manufacturer. Happy renovating!
